Mon, 06 Oct 2008 18:41:34 +0200 Mon, 06 Oct 2008 18:41:34 +0200 Sevnica It’s 11 o’clock and again we meet outside our “place”. The atmosphere goes hand in hand with the morning hours. Our crew is stacking the gear, the rest are slowly dropping in. After the morning coffee we take our time loading ourselves on the bus as well. The day is no different from those we have had so many times before, nothing out of the ordinary. But still today is a special day. All of a sudden the speakers on the bus scream “Happy birthday, Boštjan!” It’s Boštjan’s birthday today. And trust us, you cannot wish for a better birthday present than a concert. It takes us about an hour and a half to get to Sevnica, more precisely up to the Sevnica castle. It’s a stunning castle with a gorgeous well in the middle of the courtyard and a magnificent view. The event promoters have outdone themselves, exceeded all expectations. Backstage is great, the food so delicious. As if they knew that for one of us today is a special day. The sound check goes smoothly – if we neglect the fact it has been delayed due to a wedding in the courtyard. No problem, there’s still enough time before the concert starts. It’s about 8 PM now and the program begins with Carina, followed by Jezus Osebno. Crowds start to gather, the atmosphere is just right – rock & roll and some fire-breathers and torch-jugglers up on the castle wall. Next up is Gatuzo and it’s about time we got ready. It’s 11:20 PM, sounds of B Mashina are heard from the stage. The atmosphere is perfect, the courtyard full. A “Happy Birthday” song sung to Boštjan by a crowd of a few thousand is a present one can only wish for. The concert our drummer will definitely remember for the rest of his life goes through as planned. After the concert we toast to Boštjan as we should – in the circle of our closest friends. Happy birthday, Boštjan! Thanks to our crew, the event promoters and most of all thanks to our fans for all your support. gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2894 Sat, 30 Aug 2008 00:00:00 +0200 Ankaran The last of the concerts before our vacation is behind us. Ankaran – as every sea-side town should – awaited us hot and sultry. As we tried to cool down a bit, not even jumping into the sea helped much. Anyhow, after a delicious dinner we couldn't wait to take the stage and go with the flow of the energy between us and our audience. We closed the hour-and-a-half-long show some half an hour after midnight but continued the merry celebration from after the show up till the sunrise. It was great and it will be still – see you in the autumn! Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2861 Fri, 11 Jul 2008 00:00:00 +0200 4 in a row And so they're behind us. Four shows in a row. Škofja Loka, Koper, Murska Sobota and Rock Otočec. It was incredible … and that quadrupled. Uverture in Škofja Loka. The beautiful Main Square was overflowing with listeners and as we were told by the insiders we even outnumbered the famous Škofja Loka artist. Sadly we had to end the show by 11 PM but we did not leave our fans deprived. We played an hour-and-a-half-long string of our “evergreens” and after the show had a drink with some of the visitors to exchange an opinion or two. It was 9 on the next morning when our bus set off in the direction of Koper. It was a genuinely hot summer day but we were headed for the heat and the smell of the sea. Great! The venue was huge and so was the stage. They showed promise of the mega event to come. The Radio Capris team really outdid themselves! After the sound check we filled our stomachs and lay down on the beach … if one can call it that. :) The long day set into the night and then it was show time. It began with Tabu, followed by Dan D, Vlado Kreslin and at half past midnight Siddharta. The selection of performing artists screamed for two duets – with Vlado Kreslin we performed his Od Višine Se Zvrti and with Dan D our joint concoction of Male Roke / Voda. The crowd of 15,000 was visibly satisfied. We hope we met their needs. After two nights of too little sleep, on Saturday at 11 AM we left for Murska Sobota. Many of us made up for the missing hours of sleep by dozing off on the bus. The idyllic surroundings of the Soboški dnevi venue tossed us in a good mood immediately and the evening crowd filled us with new energy. It was a good show – if we leave aside the electricity problems, which somewhat corrupted the quality of the sound. But in our opinion we all had a great time. Greetings to our friends in Idrija, Zablujena Generacija. Thanks for the perfect warm-up – 1, 2, 3, 4 … 5. As we should on a Sunday, we pampered ourselves with a big dose of sleep. We didn’t leave for Otočec until 6 PM. The festival of mud and rock’n’roll lived up to its tradition again this year – it didn’t take long to spot the playful visitors enjoying their mud baths. The finale of Euro 2008 kept our eyes fixated on the big screen. Together with the festival visitors we cheered for our own set of favourites. By the way, thanks for the beer! After football it was stage time for us and the grand finale of our mini tour. Thanks to our accompanying crew who always take care of everything so that we can do our part enjoyingly. Thanks to all of you before the stage who support us. May we have many a great concert together! See you in Ankaran! http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2857 Wed, 02 Jul 2008 00:00:00 +0200 Maribor Unbelievable! Unbelievable! – Ok so we watched football before the show. Smiljan put together one heck of a show, organizing all that was possible. We ended up before a crowd of 6,000 people in a wonderful stadium, where we took care of a rush of blood to the hearts of at least 20,000 fingers. As cocky as it may sound – THE WINNER WAS... Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2852 Fri, 20 Jun 2008 00:00:00 +0200 The Krka spring cave Outside our place in the morning. As so many times before. Yet today is special. We have a totally different show coming up. Acoustic, more calm, more intimate. Our crew loads the gear onto the bus and away we go towards the Dolenjsko region of Slovenia, more precisely the Krka spring, the location of the Krka festival. A cave! We will be playing in a genuine cave. This should be lots of fun. We are all anxious to see how it all turns out. The crew guys surmount all the obstacles and like in a flash the gear is inside the cave. The sound check goes by without a single complication and the acoustics of the cave throw us in raptures. We can't wait for the evening! After the sound check we have a delicious dinner and await the evening cave show in great expectation. The cave fills up, the show starts. The energy in the cave is amazing. We feel the crowd's excitement almost instantly. It is no different from ours. It feels great! Suddenly we feel as if playing in our own living room. Except for the fact that there are no torches in the living room. :) Time flies. Way too fast. The list of songs we have prepared for tonight runs short. The crowd is playful, so are we. The setlist was too short, the crowd demands some more. To round it up we have some sun shine into the cave with Na Soncu. After the show we take some pictures and spend some time with our fans. We have congrats flying in from all directions. Excitement remains. We hope we can have a similar show again soon. Thanks to all who helped us make tonight happen. Thanks to the event promoter, to our crew who never cease to surprise with their creativity, but most of all our fans. You make it all work! See you in Maribor! http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2897 Sat, 14 Jun 2008 00:00:00 +0200 Stockholm It was the first time for our team to fly out to a show. Our journey to the northern land started by being late at the Brnik airport. We nonetheless managed to fly in to Sweden's capital on time. Settling in the pleasant hotel made the time fly by even more quickly – the night was already short as it was. In fact, we hardly had any night-time so we spent the days in our own way. The peak of our stay in Stockholm was of course our performance before 10,000 people, of which some 3,000 actually paid attention to the happening at this festival of food and drink. We received many good reviews afterwards, we got to wear our Swedish friends' T-shirts, gave out a few of our own and later we again got to spend some fine time with our friends. And the night was again so short. Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2851 Sat, 07 Jun 2008 00:00:00 +0200 Celje It's been quite some time since in Hala Tivoli we told you all we can tell you on stage. Eight months of twists and turns, new challenges and new expectations… And then came May and with it fresh impetus and first in the string of shows coming up this year. May 23. Friday. It's 11 o'clock. Our team has been piling the gear on the bus for the past half an hour. We gather for our routine morning session outside our rehearsal place. As usual. Everything is running smoothly, as a matter of routine, just like a million times before. But our fingers itch to do something. The gear has been packed. We step on the bus and set out for Celje's Planet Tuš. The journey passes like in a flash. On the bus one can feel that genuine rock'n'roll spirit in the air. We arrive in Celje around 2. Our guys begin setting up the gear on stage. Again everything follows our well-known routine rhythm. As so many times before. A bad weather forecast moves the venue indoors. We are not bothered by the fact too much – it's close to show-time and all that matters now is that soon we'll be back on stage after a long break. The sound-check goes like clockwork. The venue's architecture is broken up just right for the sound to be exactly what we want it to be and what our fans expect it from us. After the sound-check we retire backstage. It’s 5 o’clock by now. We have a warm meal and then park our buns outside on the terrace, amazed by the sunshine. Ah never mind the sunshine, we all know that soon thunder will come. The show is starting. First up on stage are I.C.E. Crowds are gathering. Right after I.C.E. Alya takes over and well warms up the crowd. The venue is filling up… while our fingers still itch to do something. Soon now… Dan D go up for their show. The guys are in full swing when all of a sudden the stage goes black. Our eyes meet and we think to ourselves “don’t tell me… nah, it can’t be, it’s just a fuse, it must be”. But we are full of mixed feelings. It can’t go wrong, not today… not now! Some 20 minutes later the lights are back and Dan D continue their show. It’ll be soon now… It’s almost 11 PM. Our time has finally come… Our team sets up the stage for the show and at around 11:15 the stage goes black again, only this time it’s not a blown fuse. The sounds of Peter and the Wolf are heard… the fuse is fine. And thunder strikes! It thunders like it hasn’t for a long time. The Planet Tuš place shakes, the waiters lift the waitresses shoulder-high, the venue is filled up to the last corner, the energy is right. Now we know what our fingers were itching to do… The show goes as planned, we round it up at 1 AM. Pleasantly tired we mingle among our fans and wait for the team to clear up the gear. The return trip was a bit quieter but thus sweeter. Thanks to all who came to see us. And thanks to our team for another rocking night in Slovenia. gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2844 Fri, 23 May 2008 00:00:00 +0200 Driven Into The Unknown Our ways have parted. After over a decade of co-creating, rehearsing, four studio and two live albums, all the singles, special releases and numerous live performances later Cene R. decided to temporarily leave the band and try his luck as a solo artist. In this decision he has our full support and we wish him all the luck and success he can get. There isn’t many people you come across in your life, who make such an intensely positive impact on a whole, and there’s even less of those who in the process become irreplaceable and indispensable. Cene is most definitely one of these people. He was and remains foremost our friend and even though our ways are temporarily parting in the field of music, we are sure that they will cross again. And then you never know… „Siddharta always did and will connect all of us, sensual beings, who have listened and will listen to it in the future. We toured the clubs and summer festivals, did the Izštekani (“Unplugged”) show with Jure Longyka, sold out the Maraton (“Marathon”) concert and then released both of these on CD’s with bonus DVD’s. We were again nominated for Best Adriatic Act at MTV EMA 2007, shot and cut a video for Male Roke, combined our skills with the band Dan D and soaked our Male Roke (Little Hands) in their Voda (Water). http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2827 Mon, 10 Mar 2008 00:00:00 +0100 Video for »Autumn Sun« premieres on MTV Adria The song Autumn Sun, which was performed for the first time in the radio show “Izštekani” (“Unplugged”) and then reprised in front of a few thousand people at the Marathon, will get its own video. “Live” footage of Izštekani and the Marathon will be the basis for the new video, which will be edited into a final product by MTV Adria’s own Igor Nardin and Mateja Kavčnik. The video will premiere on March 8 in the Adria Top 20 show. Autumn Sun (album Silikon Delta) is the second video (after T.H.O.R.) that will consist strictly of live footage and first Siddharta’s single that was recorded and presented in the English language only. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2818 Tue, 04 Mar 2008 00:00:00 +0100 Siddharta with a new management After a successful collaboration with Iztok Kurnik, Siddharta decided to entrust their management to VetoGroup. A merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all! http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2793 Mon, 24 Dec 2007 00:00:00 +0100 Albums released The release of two »live« albums – the unplugged Izštekani album and the Marathon album – and the opening of the concert photos exhibition by Aleksander Remec was marked by autograph signing and mingling with our fans. It all took place in the Big Bang Giga store, where about 200 of our friends gathered. We gave them each a Marathon poster and autographs if requested. We exchanged a few opinions and stared down a multitude of camera lenses. The surprise of the evening was prepared by members of our very own S.A.M.O. forum, who – right there in the store before all the visitors – performed for us Samo Edini and Orion Lady. There was a bit of stage fright but never mind that... They wished happy birthday to Tomaž and Jani, who celebrated around that time, and of course a happy birthday to the forum itself – it was its 5th year of existence. All the best also from all of us! It was nice to see you all. We really enjoyed it. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2790 Mon, 10 Dec 2007 00:00:00 +0100 It's going to be a lively December! It's been a highly successful year for Siddharta, 2007. Armed with a Viktor award, early this year the guys set off on a club tour, played at a few summer festivals, received another MTV Best Adriatic Act nomination and closed the tour with two outstanding live performances: one in the Izštekani show on Radio Val 202 and the other in a concert marathon in Ljubljana's Hala Tivoli. These latter events they found so special that they decided they needed to be re-lived by releasing two live albums. Thus from Monday, 10 December, 2007, two Siddharta's live albums will become available. The Izštekani album will include a CD with all the music performed during the show, while the DVD will give you the rare opportunity of viewing the radio show. The Marathon album will include as many as four CDs with all the music performed at this musical surplus, which stretched over many hours, and a DVD with a documentary on the happening outside and inside the hall, both before the show and during it. And to top it all, Siddharta will open an exhibition of concert photos as caught through the lens of photographer Aleksander Remec in the years 2006-2007. The exhibition opening will take place in the Big Bang Giga music store in Ljubljana's BTC at 7 PM . At the opening, the band will be available for signing of the new and the old albums. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2768 Tue, 27 Nov 2007 00:00:00 +0100 MTV EMA 2007 November 1 is just around the corner and millions of people around the world will have their eyes pierced on TV screens as that will be the day of the MTV European Music Awards show. The show in OlympiaHalle will be hosted by the unpredictable Snoop Dogg and for the third time in a row the Best Adriatic Act award will be presented. And the nominees? Music reporters and critics as well as the region's music scene know-it-alls have nominated Bosnia and Herzegovina's DUBIOZA KOLEKTIV, Croatia's HLADNO PIVO and JINX, for the third time Slovenia's SIDDHARTA and for the first time the Serbian cult band VAN GOGH. This makes it – similar to last year, when the award went to Aleksandra Kovač – an excellent selection of nominees. The winner will thus probably be unknown up to the last minute. You can vote for your favourite through the www.ema.mtvadria.com website or via text messages: for Dubioza Kolektiv send a text message* saying MTV01 to 3700 for Hladno Pivo send a text message* saying MTV02 to 3700 for Jinx send a text message* saying MTV03 to 3700 for Siddharta send a text message* saying MTV04 to 3700 for Van Gogh send a text message* saying MTV05 to 3700 *the cost of each message sent is 0,42 €, provided by Mobitel d.o.o. The voting will start on Monday, September 24 at midnight and will last till Friday, October 26 at noon. Again the choice is yours. Want your favourite to win? Vote now! The winner will be announced on November 1 at the MTV EMA show in Munich, live on MTV Adria. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2925 Sat, 06 Oct 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Marathon Our day began at around 8 AM when each of us took all the necessary things for the evening show, clothes, towels and such. At 9 AM we gathered at our rehearsal place where our crew had been loading all our gear into vans. Arriving at Tivoli, it took another hour to set everything up for soundcheck so the first checking started no earlier than around 1 PM. Other guests began to arrive and they too checked their own settings so that it would all run smoothly in the evening. The soundcheck again took longer than expected and we barely managed to get it over with by 6 PM when the doors opened for the first visitors. In the hour and half that we had left before stage time we had a little something to eat (you cannot play with food lying heavy on your stomach, can you?) and then at a quarter to 8 we took the stage. It began! The room was overcrowded and when we came on it felt like a dream come true. Of course we could not do without a few troubles here and there so during the short planned breaks we had to deal with a few cramps, results of month-long preparations and playing all day round. But positive energy and goodwill will heal anything and even the Marathon went on without any visible incidents. The further along we were, the better we were doing  and judging from the response we got from the audience, they too found that extra energy to go wild along with us right to the end. As a matter of fact the sight before the stage was indeed awesome. It felt like each and every one of them held out till the end. It was as if we had the room full of our true fans only. Our guests gave the whole event a special charm and they deserve a huge and special thank-you. When at 0:59 we stepped off stage, the on-stage stop-watch was stopped at 5 hours and 15 minutes. But after a show like that it was no time yet to go home. It was an event calling for a toast and celebration. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2789 Fri, 05 Oct 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Let's come together on this day of grief Shaken with the tragedy and the catastrophe of Tuesday's flood we decided toexpress our sympathies and with tonight's performance at Radio and TVSlovenia pay our respects to those who have passed away and those who havesuffered. Radio and TV Slovenia and Radio Ognjisce have joint their efforts inbringing forth a charity event "Let's come together", aimed to help thosewho have suffered in the floods. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2761 Fri, 21 Sep 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Siddharta Unplugged Once again we were guests of Jure Longyka in his show Izštekani (The Unplugged). Wiser now and with more technical know-how, we truly enjoyed this unplugged performance. We had practised in the studio the day before the show and so everything was set well before Friday's show. We felt confident. It was only additional motivation for us to know that it was a live show and that there was no room for mistakes and re-tries. Our thanks go to Jure, our music guests (Buco, the Godalika quartet and Dan D's Tokac) and the show crew for a wonderful and unforgettable evening. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2795 Fri, 21 Sep 2007 00:00:00 +0200 The Marathon guests We can now give you some of the names of our guests at the great Siddharta Marathon on 5 October in Ljubljana's Hala Tivoli. A ticket to the Marathon has already been handed in by Siddharta's first bass player Primož M., Big Foot Mama's frontman and vocalist Gregor Skočir, the rapper Nikolovski, the string quartet Godalika and the rock legend Vlado Kreslin. But this is only the beginning of the list http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2737 Thu, 20 Sep 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Siddharta marathon With 4 studio albums, a remix album and over 50 recorded numbers released, Siddharta are now planning a new venture. On the night of October 5th, with a little help of their guests, Ljubljana's Hala Tivoli will host Siddharta in a live performance of their complete opus. Needless to say this is a unique occasion, going side by side with that of the Stadium concert a few years ago as Siddharta sound will rock the hall for over four hours. The band is well in the preparation stage for "the longest night", rehearsing tracks that have not been played live for a while or even have even never before been performed live. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2726 Wed, 12 Sep 2007 00:00:00 +0200 September award-winning competition Among those who subscribe to our newsletter with a working email address (please see the bottom-left corner), three lucky winners of a free ticket to the Siddharta marathon concert will be chosen in late September. The lucky winners will be announced on our web page and contacted via email. You may also use your friend's email address to subscribe or invite them to do so themselves. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2725 Tue, 11 Sep 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Siddharta Unplugged It was over 8 years ago that Siddharta last performed unplugged in the Izštekani show. Jure Longyka, the show's author and host will have Siddharta in the studio on 21 September. They will be heard on the waves of radio Val 202 in the 90-minute show, where the plan is to combine the acoustic sounds of numbers from the band's all four albums with a discussion with a few guests and some reminiscence. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2791 Mon, 10 Sep 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Novo mesto The concert took place in Novo mesto's main square on Saturday, 8 September, 2007. The stage hosted Urban4, Siddharta and of course the local top band Dan D. After arrival in Novo mesto, it was as usual time for sound-check, and after that dinner. After dinner we went to see the show of Urban4 but then it was our turn to take the stage. The square was filled with a crowd of some 3,500 to 4,000 people. Our compliments to the promoter! Everything was taken good care of so that it all ran smoothly! It was one of our better performances and we had the chance of performing in a new venue, at a new event, which kicked off this year for the first time. Our music rocked the crowd for a good hour and a half and after that Dan D, a band coming from Novo mesto itself, took over, while we joined them on stage later on to conclude the show with the Male Roke / Voda medley. The show and the entire event ended up in a party that lasted until early morning hours. We hope you had a good time. We'll meet again in Ljubljana's Hala Tivoli at the Siddharta Marathon on 5 October, 2007. We have some surprises in store, our widest repertoire ever and some interesting guests... Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2734 Sat, 08 Sep 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Velika Polana The last in the string of the spring-summer Petrolea tour shows was in Velika Polana, a small town near Beltinci, the home of white wine and the famous "prekmurska gibanica" cake. The show before a crowd of a few thousand was energetic and the crowd overwhelmed with euphoria. We wound up the show with a number, well-known in these ends: Od Višine Se Zvrti. It felt more than appropriate as the conclusion of the tour. A couple of toasts and a party with our fans followed but then we were off to Ljubljana, where we said our farewells. We are taking a short break by the sea in the next days. We'll see you again in September. Where, how and why, however, are questions yet remaining unanswered. We'll let you know. Have fun and see you soon! Siddharta  Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2709 Mon, 30 Jul 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Kranj At the Kranj festival the rock'n'roll part of the show was in our hands and in the hands of the legend Pero Lovšin. Before our show the stage was occupied by "artistically talented" musicians we don't want to mince words on. We can say though that we gave Kranj a good party. The crowd filled the town centre and we filled the air with a 2-hour show. The crowd was in a good mood and full of beautiful girls who love bad guys. The show ended with a bow for the audience as an expression of our gratitude for all their support in our creativity. Once again, thanks to all our fans!  Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2708 Fri, 27 Jul 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Koper On Tuesday night we rocked the night in Koper together with Dan D. The afternoon time was spent with the soundcheck, a late lunch and a while later we managed to cool down in the sea. Our show began around 10:30 and Titov Square climaxed just after midnight when we surprised the crowd of 3,000 by playing Mala Voda together with Dan D. After the show the party and photo-shoot continued with our fans. It was a beautiful summer event and it will surely remain in our memories.  Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2707 Tue, 24 Jul 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Idrija This Friday 13th took us to a completely new location for us, a club called the Chaos in the town of Idrija. Its capacity is about 3-4 hundred people on two floors and it proved to be able to host a band with as much gear as we have to show Idrija a great party in an hour and a half. The crowd was great and not lacking pretty girls, which is now no longer a specularity but almost a rule. We played numbers from all our albums, the crowd singing along and partying. After the show we loaded our gear on the bus and soon set back home. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2693 Fri, 13 Jul 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Laško On Thursday afternoon we drove off to Laško as we were to party with a crowd of a few thousand that night. As we arrived, we started setting up our gear in order to be done with the sound check as soon as possible. Of course once in Laško one cannot go without tasting their all-Slovenian and one of the best beers. After sound check and after dinner we took a stroll around the venue to check out the happening in Laško. There were quite a few music stages and the line-up included many commercial bands. The important thing there was to have as many people as possible come over, have fun and have a beer or two... To wrap up the evening was our show on the main stage. The atmosphere was great and the crowd went wild until after the show when we toasted with Laško beer in backstage and partied on with our fans. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2692 Thu, 12 Jul 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Planina pri Sevnici Performing at the height of 700-and-something metres offered a magnificent view of the neighbouring hills and valleys. The beautiful location allured some 5 thousand people. We performed quite late as we followed the performances of Neisha and Mi2 and some others. With the venue overcrowded, on stage we were in full swing, playing our thing very much in tune... It's great to hear the crowd cheer and sing along, while you can just go with the music and its charm, everything just falling into place. These were the feelings we had when it was all over. Under the full moon, the atmosphere was like magic. Literally. We arrived home early in the morning – some rest was a must! Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2683 Sat, 30 Jun 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Žalec We arrived at the venue in Žalec in late afternoon to find it all set for sound check. Afterwards we had dinner and almost 4 hours spare time to rest a bit and get ready for the show. Before our show a large crowd gathered at the Žalec Night. Once on stage the party was on. It lasted about 2 hours and when the audience excitedly demanded more, we gave them encore. After the show we took some time to cool down and spend time with our fans... Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2682 Fri, 29 Jun 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Hrastnik Friday's strenuous day was followed by Saturday in Hrastnik's cosy sports hall. It was our classic striking repertoire that we played in Hrastnik, with the encore coming on more gently and ending in the dizziness from the height. We spent some time with our fans after the show and raised our glasses to yet another successful concert weekend. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2663 Sat, 16 Jun 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Maribor On Friday we arrived in Maribor at around 1PM for the sound-check before the evening show. Our co-performers were Laibach, Dan D and Šank Rock. The Ledna hall was occupied by a crowd of six thousand, who sang along with us all to the end when we had a surprise prepared: Dan D joined us on stage and together we performed the Male Roke / Voda blend. It felt great! After our performance we indulged in the performance of Laibach and afterwards we slowly set off back home to Ljubljana. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2662 Fri, 15 Jun 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Impro League  On Sunday, 10 June, 2007, KUD France Prešeren hosted the 2nd contest of the Impro leauge  great finale, a contest in theatrical improvisation. The teams of Veselička and Modro Nebo competed to win the title of the best in the game of spontaneity and vivid imagination. The show being governed by impulses from the audience as it is, received yet another surprise as Siddharta's Primož B., Tomi M. and Tomaž O.R. walked the stage to deliver a box to the show's host Gregor Gruden. The box contained instructions for the final scene of the improvisers' show. It is always in the last minute that the improvisers get these instructions (e.g. how many improvisers are to participate, what the audience's suggestions are, how long the scene should take). The so-called "delegate's challenge" is always delivered in an interesting, not to say spectacular manner. This time the Impro League members asked members of Siddharta to help, since all the delegate's challenges were named after the band's songs. Though improvisers in the audience tried to prevent the box from reaching the stage, in the end it was delivered to the hands of the right people and the audience gave all an enthusiastic round of applause. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2661 Sun, 10 Jun 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Nazarje Arriving in Nazarje in the afternoon hours gave us enough time to look around at the surrounding hills. The Rdeča Armada club is located in a valley of great natural beauty. The club - our respects to it - was overcrowded. We started the show at about half past 10, following Kačji Pastir and followed by Yogurt. We played for a good hour and 40 minutes, the crowd was great and accepted us wonderfully. They worked the show with us all the way t the end. After the show we spent some time with our fans and soon set off for Ljubljana. Such was another successful performing weekend. See you next week in Maribor, in the company of Šank Rock, Laibach, Dan D and others. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2651 Sat, 09 Jun 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Novo Mesto In Novo Mesto we played near the city market, in the garden of the San Sebastian club. Everything ran smoothly; the show was great and the garden filled with the Novo Mesto youth. We also prepared a surprise for the crowd: we had the singer of Dan D join us on stage. The atmosphere was great, the crowd went wild and we did too. We are glad for this show to have come about and we hope to do it again. The next day we were off to Nazarje. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2650 Fri, 08 Jun 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Vienna / AT We arrived in Vienna in the late morning hours, which gave us plenty of time to get ready for the evening show. We played at the Planet Music club, which has the capacity of about 800 people. Everything ran smoothly. The show started at about 10PM, after the shows of two Austrian bands. The hall filled nicely and we must not forget to mention our loyal fans, who showed up in a good number. The atmosphere was accordingly great as almost the whole hall sang along with us. The energy flow was amazing and we ended the show with an encore as usual. We spent a couple of hours partying with our friends but then we had to leave for Ljubljana. Our driver Rok did a great job at getting us home fast. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2627 Sat, 26 May 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Kresnice near Litija On Friday afternoon we set off to Kresnice, where we played that night. After arrival as our gear was being set up, we freshened up in the near-by cottage. Sound check is always fun. It usualy takes about an hour to plug everything in and take care of the sound on stage. Tisa pays attention to our comments and gives her suggestions while the rest of the guys from our team listen in or take care of things for the show, i.e. set up the instruments, draw the cables, put up the logo sign behing our drummer and last but not least they set up our merchandise corner in a place where it can be easily reached. Yes, all this is what our staff does – we could never do all this ourselves. After the concert we took a shower and moved on to Austria. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2626 Fri, 25 May 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Radenci We set off for Radenci at noon sharp. The ride was quite a long one, but it gave us some rest time. There was a marathon in Radenci, the 27th annual race of all generations. It was all of these who united again in the evening for the show we prepared. There were about 8 thousand people there, the atmosphere was amazing, it was a beautiful evening. Even the clear sky lay down an ear to listen in on our music. After the show we took a quick shower in the near-by hotel and drove off to Ljubljana. It was in the morning hours when we bid our farewells and were off to our own beds. Sunday was up next, a day to rest and relax. Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2426 Sat, 19 May 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Brežice Brežice's Youth Club was a new proof of the club scene in Slovenia being very well up and about. They even have a monthly schedule of events! We started the show around 11 PM in the room overcrowded with youth and overflown with the energy which took us through the show, all the way to 1 AM when we were over with our show. The feel of the show was fantastic. The room was hot hot...  We had the journey to Radenci planned for the next day so we took off for Ljubljana as soon as possible. Our driver proved himself once again and got us home safe and sound in just two hours. It was a great evening but ended in a sleep not that long... Photo album http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2425 Fri, 18 May 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Črnomelj It took us a drive past Novo mesto, through Metlika to get in the heart of Bela Krajina, Črnomelj, where on the banks of the Lahinja the MKK club is located. The club hosts around 200 people and the show was sold out almost instantly. We got on around 11 PM and kept rocking for a good two hours. The crowd seemed pleased and besides we hadn't played in the club for 8 years. The usual mingling with our fans took place in front of the club this time. We returned to Ljubljana in early morning hours to get some necessary rest. See you again next weekend! Photos http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2389 Sat, 12 May 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Žiri Through the town of Horjul our way led us to the beautiful greenery of Žiri. Close to the venue was a garden where we freshened up with a drink before the sound check. We had dinner served by lovely waitresses who had a remarkable feature indeed: while waiting the tables they whistle with high spirits. We got down to the show at around 10 PM in the overcrowded hall. It was hot in Žiri, both on stage and before it -- we were all wet in a flash! The crowd was fabulous and greeted us very nicely; in return we gave them an all-night party. We returned home in Ljubljana a little earlier than usual, which gave us a few extra hours of sleep. The CD will include the original album track Male Roke, a song that was written in collaboration with Dan D called Male Roke / Voda and four live tracks recorded last month in Mostovna club (Male Roke, Plastika, Domine and Homo Carnula). The Ep will be available from Friday, May 11th, in Big Bang shops in a set with the album Petrolea. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2363 Mon, 07 May 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Murska Sobota We arrived in Murska Sobota at about 4 PM. The venue was in a castle and as we had almost 2 hours of spare time on our hands before sound check we spent it strolling  through the park surrounding the castle and indulging in a coffee. After sound check we had dinner, typical of Prekmurje, the region where Murska Sobota is located, not skipping dessert of course – gibanica, a delicious layered cake, which might literally be translated as "over Mura moving cake". We were taken good care of in Prekmurje, so our payback was a great two-hour concert. At the beginning the crowd seemed a bit reluctant but we well burnt the ground below their feet and brought the gig to an euphoric ending, intertwined with Vlado Kreslin's song Od Višine Se Zvrti. The crowd loved it and for us it was a perfect conclusion of the weekend. Murska Sobota, it was great, you are one of a kind! The show in the Dol cinema hall had been sold out but the technical incompliance brought about by the massive rain in the prior days raised serious doubts in the safety of the band, our gear and last but not least the quality of the show itself. We would like to express our deepest regret about the situation and any inconvenience it might have brought on. In case we manage to set an alternative date for the cancelled show in Hrastnik, we will announce it on www.siddharta.net immediately. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2366 Fri, 04 May 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Male Roke Video On Friday, May 4th, at 5pm we will be premiering our latest video for Male Roke on our website. It's the third video from album Petrolea, however it's the first ballad. The video was directed by Dafne Jemeršič. The shooting took place in halls and hallways of Ljubljana Castle and beside members of Siddharta the actors are some familiar faces...will you recognize them? You can also watch the video on TV Slovenija (Lestvica na drugem) and within next week on every other TV station. Just for the visitors of our website we have prepared a short »making of« video. Enjoy! http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2267 Thu, 03 May 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Mostovna We set off to Nova Gorica on Friday, for a gig in Mostovna. It was another proof that the club scene in Slovenia is very much alive and well-settled. Mostovna is a great club where every band wants to return to. They have it all – even a kitchen and beds, a cook and a masseuse :-).   Well OK, they don't have a masseuse but still... maybe some day, somehow... As we arrived, our crew started to set up our gear on stage, so we had time for some coffee and a short walk. After soundcheck we had a home-made dinner – pasta a la carte. The show started at 11PM and lasted up to 1AM. The crowd partied all the way to the end and it was surely one of the best gigs of this tour. On stage it felt great! What is worth mentioning about this show is that we recorded it in whole and just might use the recorded materials some day. After the concert we mingled with our fans, signed a poster, CD, T-shirt... or two. It was a beautiful Saturday morning when we returned home but for us it was a start of a long sleep... Photo http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2256 Fri, 20 Apr 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Opicina, Italy Somewhere around Opicina, right across the border with Italy, close to Trieste was the location of this students' party. In tents amidst the idyllic Italian Karst on such a beautiful sunny day there was only one imperfection: the sea. Just about everyone would gladly take the plunge to cool down a bit... Instead, some of us went for a short walk through the natural beauties, while our crew took care of our gear and the PA, set it up and made it ready for the sound check that followed. We had dinner in a genuine Italian trattoria - the pizza was delicious! We also tasted some home-made merlot and terrano liqueur... Our show began at about 11PM in a tent, overcrowded with youth, and lasted up till 1AM, when a pop-rock band from Milano took over. We returned to Ljubljana no sooner than 6AM and had only one thing in mind: to get some rest. See you next Friday in Solkan! Photos http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2246 Sat, 14 Apr 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Škofja Loka Friday night's show was in a students' club in Škofja Loka, called Rdeča Ostriga (The Red Oyster). The club had recently been renovated so we had no problems with our show. The rooms of the club are arranged very efficiently and practically. The club has a wonderful monthly cultural programme, which is very important for the youth. The show lasted for almost 2 hours, the audience cheered with enthusiasm while we showed our best in doing a club show. After the show we mingled with our fans until late hours and returned to Ljubljana at about 3AM to crash for a few hours as we were bound for Italy the next morning. Photos http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2248 Fri, 13 Apr 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Making of the new video At 9 o'clock on Saturday morning we gathered at the Ljubljana Castle for the new video shoot. It took the whole day to make, almost up to midnight. Our roles in the video are highly professional; we play these kind experts who ... nah, that's all we're going to say. Once the video has been edited, you'll be able to see it and find an explanation of its story for yourselves. Dafne Jemeršič was in charge of the direction, Miloš Srdič of the camera and Urška of our costumes. The rest of the technical staff, about 15 people altogether, took care of the lighting, the make-up, technical installations, props and the catering. We had a great time and the feelings about the video are very good, though it was a straining day - it's hardly easy to shoot a whole video in just one day. Our thanks go to the whole team, who made sure everything ran smoothly. Thanks also to Festival Ljubljana, which kindly allowed us to use their castle premises. Most of the video was shot in a 15th-century room called Kazamate, which was primarily intended to be the castle entrance... Photos http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2239 Sat, 07 Apr 2007 00:00:00 +0200 Ljubljana Friday 30th and Saturday 31st March, 2007 were two days devoted to gigs in a real rock'n'roll atmosphere in Ljubljana's Orto Bar club. First and foremost we would like to thank the staff of Orto Bar for taking such good care of us. Medo, thanks for the yummy finger food, the drinks and the energy, including those during the show. Thanks and congrats to our personal crew who made it possible for all of us to cram on stage, which at first seemed almost an impossible task to do. To put six people and all our gear on a stage as small as Orto's demands a great deal of steady nerves, compromises about where we could move, where to place the monitors; and even the instruments' volume had to be adjusted for the same reason. Both shows turned out very well though, both from the point of view of music and the sound. All this adds up to the fact that Siddharta truly is a band who can turn any venue into a place for a real rock'n'roll party. One could see this in the eyes of the crowd in Ljubljana too. Both shows were sold out even before the official start of Orto Fest on the day of the first show when the Orto ticket office opened. A sincere thanks to all of you, our dear fans who came to see our first show. We believe that the venue could easily be filled even on Saturday but the two-night party was good enough an opening of the famous traditional Orto Fest, which will go on through the whole April with an interesting selection of performing bands. Friday Photos  |  Saturday Photos http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2227 Sat, 31 Mar 2007 00:00:00 +0200 »The« day Saturday's Viktor awards show was your chance to see what Siddharta had been up to these last few weeks. We joined forces with the band Dan D and merged two of our songs into an interesting music collage. You can now hear their song Voda and our song Male Roke in a joined perfomance. All 11 musicians from both bands came together in Novo mesto's RSL studio where we got down to rearranging the two pieces into a brand new track and recording it live. We had great fun making it, may you have great fun listening to it. Photos http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2202 Sun, 25 Mar 2007 00:00:00 +0100 Viktor 2006 goes to us Good old Viktor! We got you and we are so happy about it ! 2006 was for Siddharta a year of hard work and challenge. We recorded the Petrolea album and presented it on stages all over Slovenia. We recorded two music videos which conquered music charts in no time. Though the music industry is full of traps the album was declared in Slovenia as best album of the year 2006. We entered 2007 full of new experiences and now also received an official confirmation for our hard work. This feels good! So, Viktor, welcome to our company and the company of our true fans. Photo gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2200 Sat, 24 Mar 2007 00:00:00 +0100 Ravne na Koroškem After a busy morning recording the TLP show (Sunday was fully scheduled due to the Planica ski jumping) from 7 AM till 2 PM we set off to Ravne na Koroškem. It was a three-hour drive and we made good use of it catching up on some sleep. Upon arrival we checked out this new club there, one of the best-equipped ones in Slovenia. We set up the gear and after soundcheck went out for dinner. The show had been sold out a few days beforehand. It was an energetic, yet quite intimate one. The reception we got from the crowd was amazing and what we gave them in return was a perfect rock'n'roll party. We spent some time with our fans after the show and returned to Ljubljana in the early morning hours. The morning after was spent in the embrace of the Viktor awards show – the dress rehearsal started at 9 AM already. In the evening we performed there together with Dan D. Have fun! See you this weekend at Orto Bar. We'll be there two nights in a row for the opening of the famous Orto Fest. Photos http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2216 Fri, 23 Mar 2007 00:00:00 +0100 Mestinje Concert The two hour drive to Mestinje, entrusted this time to our driver Matevž, offered some catching up on the lost sleep. We were really in need of some. When we arrived at Mestinje, our great crew team smoothly set up the stage and the equipment. Sound check with our sound technician Tisa followed and a great "finger food" dinner after it. The concert was again terrific, the crowd was going wild and continued at that pace till the early morning. After the concert we had a gathering to celebrate the 12th anniversary of our successful work as a band. This was a really great weekend and therefore we are already looking forward to the next one - Friday in Ravne Na Koroskem. Till then, we wish you a great week. Photos http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2195 Sat, 17 Mar 2007 00:00:00 +0100 Železniki concert It was around 3 PM on Friday when we headed for Škofja Loka and over to Železniki. Our concert in the local culture home was planned for 10PM. Železniki is a town once called a "mine under the hill" and is proud to house the oldest furnace, if we are to quote our Jani literally. He also noticed a typical Slovene wooden-concrete hayrack while having a stroll through the town. Now if we go back to the venue, we might add that the hall was overcrowded with people yearning for our music and some good rock'n'roll. The band responded accordingly, the audience accepted the vibes and in the end we bade farewell with smiles on our faces. The way to Ljubljana passed by quickly. We had a couple of hours' sleep and soon gathered again to leave for Mestinje.  Photos http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2196 Fri, 16 Mar 2007 00:00:00 +0100 Viktor 2006 2006 was a busy year for Siddharta, which obviously hasn't gone unnoticed. Our work has been rewarded with a nomination for the Viktor award in the category of Best Music Act. Also nominated are singer Zoran Predin and the band Leeloojamais. The countdown begins on Saturday, 24th March. We are sure that as always our fans will cover our backs once again with strong voting and thus raising our chance to receive the Viktor Award. We are looking forward to the evening. It is usually full of surprises and this year won't be any different. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2179 Tue, 13 Mar 2007 00:00:00 +0100 Štuk At around 3 PM we arrived at Štuk, a club in Maribor, where we had our first gig of the spring club tour. The concert started at 10:20 and lasted almost 2 whole hours. Our repertoire was assembled from all four albums we’d made, so the variety of songs was quite motley and active. Considering that, we will be able to adjust the play lists and by that keep surprising our audience on our upcoming gigs. We hope to meet you there and party together. Once again, way to go, Maribor! The concert was just great, the best! Party until the morning! See you on Friday in Železniki. Bye… Photos http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2176 Fri, 09 Mar 2007 00:00:00 +0100 XOF The explosion of fun shook up us so much, that we were able to unite our impressions only today. We took an hour and 15 minutes of performance with maximum and performed sort of a “best of” repertoire. Whoever couldn’t be there to enjoy the party in person was able to see a part of it at home, since the national TV aired the first half hour of the show. Almost 20.000 of our friends gathered up and we were honored to get a very unique and exceptional surprise. Blaž Gregorin and Žare Pak (representatives of the publishing house KifKif/Menart) walked up on the stage after we finished our performance and awarded us with “Platinum record”, an acknowledgment for selling over 15.000 copies of our Petrolea. Our gratitude goes to you of course, all of our friends, which support us for a number of years and stand by our side! http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2167 Sat, 03 Mar 2007 00:00:00 +0100 The road is calling... ...and we answered. As promised, we will get back to the stage after a two month break. This time to the original atmosphere of clubs and smaller halls. And, of course, with a changed set, which will pick songs from all our records. We already look forward to this tour... http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2161 Tue, 20 Feb 2007 00:00:00 +0100 Breakthru Radio Siddharta will be represented with the song Japan on the upcoming DJ Darkside metal/rock radio show. What made it interesting is the fact that it all started already at 5:30 in the morning and lasted all until 10:00. The show was aired live from the stage in the sold out theatre, where many Slovene musicians also performed as well. We figured it would be appropriate to show our good will with our performance too, but in order to do that we had to wake up at 7 in the morning already, which is quite unusual for musicians. :) When we arrived to the theatre we had breakfast waiting for us, milk and coffee drinks of course, so we could get started. We prepared Male Roke song for our performance which we did in acoustic version. Audience and Radio Hit of course, received us nicely and thanked us with applause and with that we concluded morning jollification. Since we have never done anything like this, we thought it was interesting, worth the experience and most of all meeting with the rest of the musicians, which was quite usual concerning the early morning hours, having coffee and chatting like "where were you playing last night" and "are you performing anywhere tonight as well"…Greetings to everyone until March, when we start with our spring tour. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2148 Fri, 19 Jan 2007 00:00:00 +0100 Recordings of Ljubljana concert We are glad to announce that the recording of the Ljubljana show at Prešernov trg will be aired on Monday, 8th of January at around 22.00 on 2nd program of Slovene national television. Our greeting e-card for New Year is in the attachment! Enjoy! http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2125 Mon, 01 Jan 2007 00:00:00 +0100 Concert in Ljubljana For the last show of our Petrolea tour that rocked Slovenia over past few months we chose Ljubljana. It's "our" town, where it all began...from creating first music to first shows in local clubs and pubs. However, we left out the city center and that was now redeemed. The concert took place in the very city center, at Prešernov square. The midday rehearsal already indicated the perfect evening. With the help of all three supporting acts that were joining us on this tour (naio ssaion, Leaf-fat and Tide – thanks to you all!!!) we managed to warm-up over ten thousand people. There is nothing more beautiful and magnificent to a musician than the feeling you get when you see the mass of supporters in front of the stage. It sure was a night to remember. We wish that the up-coming year would be much like this evening...full of joy, satisfaction and pleasure with good music and that we can always rely on you – our trustworthy fans. We love you all and wish you a very happy new year! Yours Siddharta Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2118 Wed, 27 Dec 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Concert in Nova Gorica This concert took place in front of Perla in the center of Nova Gorica and literally happened on the street. The temperature was close to zero and we made sure to raise it with a great party, which came useful to us on the stage as well. The audience of five thousand people welcomed us and our gig gushingly and lively and spent two hours and twenty minutes with us and not a minute less, even though it was so cold. This was the last concert before the finishing one, which will take place in the centre of Ljubljana, more precisely, on the Prešeren square on 27th of December at 20:00p.m. Considering that we started this tour on Ljubljana’s castle, we think it is appropriate to finish it also in Ljubljana. Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2170 Fri, 22 Dec 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Siddharta’s Petrolea will ignite Ljubljana Siddharta saved up yet another surprise for the end of the year to finish the concert promotion of “Petrolea” album. The beginning of the tour was announced by a notable August concert on Ljubljana’s castle, which only lucky selected invitation receivers got to see. To finish the tour, Siddharta returns to Ljubljana with a big free concert. The Prešeren square in Ljubljana will be the scene of a unique 4 hour long concert event, starting at 8 p.m. and lasting until midnight, on Wednesday 27th of December. Siddharta’s evening with guests, which will additionaly add variety to the event, will be possible to hear on Val 202 programme and the recording will be aired also at the beginning of next year on national television. The fourth studio album presented two singles so far, including videos, which continue a series of excellent visualizations for which Siddharta received numerous awards and recognitions. All those that won’t be able to see the concert in Ljubljana will have another chance to catch Siddharta’s concert in Nova Gorica on 22nd of December. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2171 Wed, 20 Dec 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Concert in Murska Sobota The 4-hour-journey to MS came in handy to get some more sleep, lacking due to a previous night. Arrival in sleep mode - an absolute need for a coffee and a short walk through East MS followed. After dinner, we saw naio ssaion, the supporting act, and we felt great, which was also due to our crew members, who always make sure we have fun both, before and after the show. The gig was fine, audience completely satisfied, and the regular meet and greet in front of the cameras followed. In addition, our keyboard player reached 30 - what a happy atmosphere that was. The departure was late, obviously, we reached Ljubljana at around 7 a.m., took care of equipment and went to bed. That was our penultimate gig at Petrolea Tour, the epilogue follows in Ljubljana, in the very centre at Prešeren Square. All the details will be posted shortly. Till then, have fun and Merry Xmas. The audience went wild and ecstatic after more than 2 hours of rocking, therefore we reckoned it suitable for a rock band to go party with them all night long. As an end-of-tour gift we kicked in a few more songs and the Marof hall was literally dancing..."al je blu res dobru", a dialect quote meaning - it was truly great - could be heard from all around. Only in the early morning could we lay our exhausted bodies onto our beds, just for a little more than 4 hours, because at 11 a.m. the bus for Murska Sobota was already waiting for us. Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2106 Fri, 01 Dec 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Concert in Kranj We've finally played, after a long time, at Planina Hall in Kranj again. As usually, the heat was right, which, we believe, felt everybody at the venue. The hall packed with eager fans was warmed up by TIDE, our supporting act. Yet at 9.15 PM we headed onstage and unleashed the two-hour-rock'n'roll hell. Take a look up the sky over Planina Hall sometime...only Milky Way is what's left... After the show was over the regular meet and greet followed. Quite a lot fans waited up this time, especially young ones, which is nice. There were some gifts for us, i.e. drawings etc. and even a box of tangerines to keep us healthy in that kind of weather. It didn't take us long to return to Ljubljana, where we unloaded the equipment and headed to Orto bar for a beer afterwards, which turned out an all night party. See you in Novo mesto, 1st December, and Murska Sobota, 2nd December. Have fun! Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2093 Fri, 24 Nov 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Concert in Velenje Two weeks after our last concert we met with our team again, loaded all our stuff on the bus and set out for Velenje. It's great to see the guys each and every time. They're the best, devoted to us with all their hearts, just like we have always been devoted to them. Guys, we love you all! Velenje was a little more grateful time-wise so that during sound check we could go through a few songs without haste. After dinner we even had a couple of hours left for a bit of rest before going on stage. The audience was amazing; the energy flow from the audience onto the stage and back again left us with a grin. The band was in tune as never before and the audience was going wild all the way! Do it to me one more time!! Compliments to our guests naio ssaion! The band coming from Velenje themselves warmed up the local audience almost to a boiling point. Way to go! Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2064 Fri, 17 Nov 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Concert in Krško We returned from Copenhagen on Friday. On the next day at around 13.00 we set off towards Krško where we had a gig in the local sports hall. The low temperatures we got used to in Copenhagen awaited us back home in Slovenia as well. But that's what November is supposed to be like anyway. Sound check, dinner, a great gig and even better a response from the crowd, who sang along to the very last song all lead to an interesting time after the concert spent with our fans. This is a chance for us to get to know our fans of different ages, and through conversations with them we learn how our music, our performance and our rock ‘n’ roll party affects them. In the early morning hours we sailed off from the pier of Krško. We reached the harbour of Ljubljana at around 3:30. We needed some rest. After all, a week of running around Copenhagen sightseeing, and the Krško gig left us exhausted. Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2059 Sat, 04 Nov 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Copenhagen Day 4 in Copenhagen 02.11.2006 Today is the day. The reason for our coming to Denmark. We have until 6 PM for a final stroll around the city before getting ready and going to the venue of tonight's event. We'll be there to enjoy the show as well as to represent our home country. The after party is bound to last up to the morning hours. We don't expect to get any sleep tonight as we need to be at the airport at 7 AM for the check-in. Don't expect to hear from us before arriving bach home in Ljubljana. It’s going to be interesting and tiresome :) Day 3 in Copenhagen 01.11.2006 The entire band got together at 09:00 and after breakfast we went to the city. We visited the nautical museum and later hung out at the Hard Rock Cafe to keep away from the snow outside… We spent the afternoon shopping for souvenirs for our family and friends, and went to a nearby pub to see the Copenhagen vs. MAU football match, which ended 1:0 in favour of Copenhagen. We received a phone invitation during the match to a party at the hotel which was a temporary home of all the big stars. It was interesting… Day 2 in Copenhagen 31.10.2006 We were shocked to find last night that the hotel computer wouldn't be of much use for uploading the photos we had taken. For that reason among others we decided to set out to the city and check out the Copenhagen nightlife. We stopped – just as last year in Lisbon – by the Hard Rock Cafe. Most of us slept right through breakfast. We spent the day strolling along the sights of Copenhagen, adjusting to the environment. We visited a few museums - the coral reef museum, the science museum, the erotic museum, etc. We missed the evening football match but managed to meet with the MTV crew, who arrived in Copenhagen a day after we did. An enormous stage is being built to perfection in the city centre for the MTV Music Awards 06 artists' performances. We called it a day at 2 AM already because day 3 was going to be a busy one… Day 1 in Copenhagen 30.10.2006 We arrived safely in Copenhagen. Nicely settled at the hotel, we’re now getting ready for an evening tour of the city. We'll be taking pictures of all points of interest which come our way. The first photos will (probably ;) be put up tonight already, thus enabling you to “travel” with us. Till later... Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2054 Thu, 02 Nov 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Concert in Zagorje ob Savi Past Trojane, through Izlake and straight to the sports hall in Zagorje for the sound check. It all ran so smoothly. A young lady named Tisa, an excellent sound technician from Ljubljana, took great care of our sound. Afterwards we had dinner at a place just outside Hrastnik, where we were indulged with meat and seafood delicacies. In Hrastnik we were awaited by a small group of young fans. We took some time for a talk and some photos with them. After dinner we returned to Zagorje and kicked off the show at 21:15 with Mr. Q. It was truly a great gig. To boast off a bit we'd like to say that we believe we were really well in tune, more than we'd ever been thus far, which must have been felt by our fans before the stage as well. After the gig we spent some time with our fans and had the opportunity to see a few genuine magic tricks done by our Edo. Edo, respect! Back in Ljubljana at around 2 in the morning, our super crew unloaded the equipment and together we hit Orto bar. After all, a free weekend was ahead of us, plus we wouldn’t see each other for a whole week because of our trip to the MTV Awards in Copenhagen. More on that when we return though. Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2036 Fri, 27 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Final version of the Domine video We give you the final version of the video for the song Domine, the second video from the Petrolea album. Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2026 Wed, 25 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Concert in Koper The wind in Koper chilled us to the marrow but in the evening it was our chance for payback. It was one of our best gigs of the tour. And we finished it off in the perfect rock‘n’roll manner with “Na Soncu”. After the concert we took time to hang around with our fans and partied till the early morning hours. The after-party took place in Ljubljana's Orto Bar. We wish to point out the most important part of our team, the Siddharta Crew (Duši, Bobi, Kraški, Furi, Darjan, Pero, Vido, Grant). Withouth these guys the band couldn’t work as well as it does. They’re the ones who make sure our equipment is taken care of while on stage and off it, as well as the sound and the lights. We’re also very good friends, just like a big happy family and we have lots of fun and laughter together! So guys, much RESPECT to you! And in the meantime we’re already getting ready for the next gig…  Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2017 Fri, 20 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Voting for the MTV EMA 06 The Best Adriatic Act at the European Music Awards voting is gradually closing. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who took your time and voted for us. Excited we're setting out for Copenhagen in hope for the best possible outcome The voting link: http://ema.mtvadria.com/site.jhtml http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/2006 Tue, 17 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Concert in Metlika Saturday’s gig took place in Metlika. We hadn’t played there for quite a while. It was vintage time and we were offered to taste the new wine and homemade gin and schnapps. The food was home cooked too. We had a great time during dinner, the gig was awesome and so was the time afterwards. The crowd was amazing but that was no longer an exception! We had some friends from Novo mesto there as well. On the way back we stopped by the “Patriot” club in Novo mesto. There we ran into our support act Leaf Fat and had fun with our crew, who take great care of us and our equipment. Slowly we headed back home. In Ljubljana we unloaded the equipment, said goodbye to the driver, shook hands and finally went home to bed… Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1999 Sat, 14 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Concert in Sl. Gradec Friday the 13th was perfect for the Slovenj Gradec gig. When we arrived around 4 o'clock, everything was ready for the sound check. We checked different instruments on four of our songs. The monitoring was also rather quick. This meant we’d got quite a lot of concerts behind us and things were running smoothly. After the sound check we had dinner which was fun as always. At eight o’clock we left the restaurant and went back to the venue to get ready for the gig. At around nine Siddharta took the audience on a two-hour journey through the ten years of our musical creativity. It was euphoria! After the concert we dedicated our time to our fans. Many times these backstage meetings last till the early morning, this was no exception. And then we went back to Ljubljana. Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1997 Fri, 13 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Domine (video shoot, part 2) On Tuesday we spent the whole day at the VPK studio for the Domine video shoot. We shot the part of the video where the band appears. Miloš Srdič and Dafne Jemeršič worked on the video, the latter was in charge of the camera. She made sure the camera videotaped all the details in the relatively small room. Our clothing was taken care of by the Oktober company and our stylists of NOM3 while guys from Salon Mali did our hair and Rea Šribar the makeup. The video was shot for both the Slovene and the English version of the song. Needless to say, such video shoots are quite straining. They last at least 8 hours straight, during which time we have to be constantly present, plus the set needs to be prepared, then the instruments, etc. The room where the video shoot took place was black, lit from different angles, with the band rocking with full power and in the middle. More about the video will be announced next week when it is finished and ready to hit the TV screens. Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1990 Tue, 10 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Three concert dates cancelled We are sad to announce that due to logistic difficulties in the organisation the following concerts have had to be cancelled: - 28. 10. 2006, Gorišnica pri Ptuju - 30. 10. 2006, Železniki - 18. 11. 2006, Postojna All who have already purchased the tickets for the above three concerts can use the tickets for any other concert of the “Petrolea” tour this year, or return them undamaged to the place of purchase. We are sorry for any inconvenience the cancellation might have caused. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1975 Mon, 09 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Concert in Tolmin The winding road to Tolmin led us through Idrija, where hillsides are overgrown with forests -- it was anything but a bore for our driver to deliver us to Tolmin where we were to perform that evening in the local elementary school gym. The day was a bit cloudy. We went for a short walk through the town and stopped for a cup of coffee, served to us by an interesting lady, who was done up like a dog's dinner from head to toe. There we also indulged ourselves with proscutio that scored a perfect 10. The right proscutio melts in your mouth. Yeah, it really was delicious! After the sound check we went back to our bus to rest as we were still a bit tired after the gigs in Maribor. The concert started 15 minutes after nine and the crowd was overwhelmed from the beginning to the end. After the gig we hanged around and partied till the early morning hours. After arriving back in Ljubljana we said goodbye and headed straight for our beds. It was a great weekend and we’re very happy and pleased about it! Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1974 Sat, 07 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Concert in Maribor (Friday) Friday's was an open-type concert, which all our closest and most loyal fans from Slovenia and even Croatia were able to attend. One could feel the energy literally lifting us all up to the sky. The pure rock ‘n’ roll concert was followed by spending time with fans and taking photos with them. Amongst the fans we also noticed those who won their concert tickets in a competition. After the short party we packed up and headed for the bus which took us safely back to Ljubljana. Saturday’s gig in Tolmin was waiting. Let us tell you a little secret. It isn’t always all quiet and sleepy on the bus either. Many times we fool around and have fun all the way to the town of performance. Even in the early morning hours when we can hardly wait to get some sleep filled with unusual dreams, we cannot but say a word or two about the concert and the time spent with fans afterwards. Let the place rumble!!! Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1959 Fri, 06 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Concert in Maribor (Thursday) On Thursday we had a gig in the Leon Štukelj sports hall in Maribor. The concert was organized by the University of Maribor and so it was for students only. The venue, one of the biggest so far, was almost full and the audience confirmed that fact at the beginning of our appearance on the stage. A good two-hour concert took us through the ten years of our work, which revealed many an interesting thing about us… Needless to say, our concerts are always such enjoyable events. The unbelievable atmosphere and the energy while going on stage. And then journey begins… http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1958 Thu, 05 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 MTV EMA 06 As you probably already know by now, Siddharta has again been nominated for MTV Best Adriatic Act Award. In the company of other nominees it is competing for the statue that represents confirmation of good work in the music field and is, consecutively, being inspired for future achievements. Last year the band won the statue with your help and thanked for it in a special way with Petrolea album. You can show your support again by voting for your favourite band in the category for Best Adriatic Act category at  http://ema.mtvadria.com/site.jhtml. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1923 Sun, 01 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Domine The video for song Domine was made in less than a month. It was produced by the AVK team. The story was written by Tomi Horvat and Miloš Radosavljevič, who also directed the video. The photography was in the hands of Miloš Srdič and the camera in the hands of Vladan Jankovič. The story can be understood in more ways. Foremost it’s about intertwined destinies. It is about the eternal game of the domination between a man and a woman, about pushing and shoving, about covering and uncovering of our desires. The creators were moving on the edge between the explicit and the hidden deliberately. The coach, superbly portrayed by actor Matija Vastl, is the one who takes it out on one of the athletes (Neža Uršič) during the training. Later the story takes a turn. Is it the vengeance or merely a coincidence? The interpretation is left to the viewers and it probably depends on one’s own preferences. The set for the second part of the video was made by the AKV team with the help of Tina Krajnc, whereas the first part was shot on the top of the parking building Šentpeter near a hospital in Ljubljana. The assistant director and filming director was Kristina Ravnikar, and the stylist was Katja Rosa. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1924 Sun, 01 Oct 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Concert in Ljutomer The way to Ljutomer is a bit longer and this gave us an opportunity to take a nap on our tour bus. We arrived refreshed and ready for the sound check. We have to say that the venue is extremely loud and acoustic, which means it can chirp a bit in the ears every now and then. After the dinner we returned to the hall and listened to Tide. At 21.00 it was our turn. The gig was one of the best as far as our feeling is concerned. However, we did have some technical difficulties but that can happen occasionally. After the gig we spent some time together with the members of Tide and our fans. We signed CDs, t-shirts, posters, etc. We are very proud of our audience and without it there would be no proper party! Until next Friday when we perform in Maribor… see you!!! Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1931 Sat, 30 Sep 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Concert in Ilirska Bistrica As we arrived in Ilirska Bistrica on Friday, the hall had already been waiting for us with doors open. This was our first concert in this town and we asked a bit if there’s a lot of youths and at what places do they usually go to. We spotted a certain HC club, which was supposed to be for concert purposes, but it was closed. Around 700 people came to our gig which is a record number for the area. Leaf-fat warmed up the crowd and Siddharta gave them a two-hour show where pleasure, party and rock ‘n’ roll are always the top priorities! The crowd was outstanding, full of energy and happiness! It’s really nice to see that what you do gives so much pleasure to people. We got back to Ljubljana in the morning hours. We went our separate ways to get some sleep as quickly as possible for there was the 12 o’clock bus to Ljutomer waiting for us. Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1929 Fri, 29 Sep 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Concert in Šentjur pri Celju Saturday. Sunny day and cloudless sky. On the way to Šentjur we’re watching a film. Action film with Eddie Murphy and Robert DeNiro. As far as the ride is concerned there’s nothing to add. What a laugh… After the arrival in Šentjur we had enough time to go for a walk on such a fair weather day. Before the sound check we had a few short interviews. Afterwards we had dinner which was good and we were in a good mood. Feeling like this we went back to the place of the concert. At 9 o’clock the sound of train was heard and Siddharta started the show with Mr. Q. The hall was extremely hot but its sound has been the most suitable for concerts so far and the party was kicking. The crowd was going wild together with us for the whole two hours. We have to admit that we truly enjoy seeing the way a packed hall is accepting us. This is what we love to do the most. Without all this, without you, our dearest fans, Siddharta wouldn’t even exist. We’re all looking forward to the next week and the gigs in Ilirska Bistrica and Ljutomer. Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1914 Sat, 23 Sep 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Concert in Domžale In expectation of our setting off for the gig in Domžale on Friday, we had engagements throughout the whole week. Beside practices, we also had meetings and went through the entire organization of concerts, just to make sure everything is going to run smooth. The arrival in Domžale was one of the fastest. When we came to the place, the crew had already been prepared and waiting. Our hardworking boys put the equipment on stage. We tuned the instruments and started the sound check. After the sound check we had dinner and then we went to see the performance of our guests TIDE. They warmed up the place really well. At 9 o’clock it was our turn to go on stage. The concert was outstanding in every possible way – great sound in the hall and on the stage, the hall full of party people, the atmosphere and the feeling of the band itself has been the best so far. After the concert we devoted time to our fans to take pictures, talk, give signatures, etc. We had excellent time in Domžale and we hope you did just as well with us. Tonight we’re leaving to Štajerska, Šentjur pri Celju to be exact and party there. How it is going to be and how it was… you will find out that tomorrow! Have fun and see you soon at one of our next concerts Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1913 Fri, 22 Sep 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Ajdovščina concert After cold Jesenice we arrived in Ajdovščina’s sport centre Police at 15:00, where practically everything was ready for the sound check and waiting for us. After the sound check we went on a late lunch. We were feasted with home cooking and drinks. We have to say the staff was exceedingly kind. After the lunch we had an hour time to get ready for the concert which started at 21:00. Our support band LEAF FAT was already warming up the audience. The temperature in the hall was rather high so we had to dress up suitably. Then we stepped on stage to start a good two hours of rock ’n’ roll party with the audience. The feeling on the stage was exceptional. This was also seen after the gig as we spend almost two hours hanging around and talking with our fans. This time we went to bed at about 4 a.m. Sunday’s rest was more than welcome. We are looking forward to the coming concerts where the party will be the top priority. We’re expecting you. Be a part of rock ’n’ roll. See you! Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1898 Sat, 16 Sep 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Jesenice concert We hit the road in the direction of Jesenice on Friday at 13:00. The highway towards Gorenjska was jammed as it was the time when the last holiday makers were heading back home. When we arrived to the Podmežakla ice-hockey hall, we had the sound check right away because we were a bit late and the group naio ssaion had the sound check after us. The concert started at 21:00. The crowd, gathering in front of the stage, was unforgettable mainly because of the pure rock energy. The gig lasted for a good two hours and we heated up the ice-hockey hall, which is quite well known as one of the largest in our country. The repertoire was made up of 27 songs from all our albums. This gave much pleasure to many our fans and we could see the contented faces across the hall. After the gig we happily devoted time to all those that wanted our signatures, photos, posters, CDs, etc. We arrived back in Ljubljana at 2 in the morning and went to bed immediately because another concert in Ajdovščina was on the next day. For this purpose they shot a video last week. The interesting thing about the video is that the group will not appear in it at all… is this the only interesting thing? The opening concert of Petrolea tour will make history as the first rock concert at Ljubljana castle! We came back after a year off and we played one of the best concerts ever. Many have said that excellent sound, splendid ambience of the courtyard and clear sky had marked the evening. We do admit that we had a bit of stage fright… to perform new material for first time is never an easy task. Only then you begin to see what material offers, where the deficiencies and the advantages are. There were a lot of you with us at the castle, but it was said that the sound had been heard all across the Ljubljana valley. Anyway, we are looking forward to the upcoming concerts and to see you again! See you! http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1831 Thu, 03 Aug 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Exit 06 We left Ljubljana on Thursday at midnight to head for the eagerly anticipated gig at the Exit festival on 7th July, scheduled at 19.00. The route to Novi Sad was well known to us because we had already played there: last year on the Tuborg stage (second biggest festival stage).Exit festival is one of the biggest, if not the biggest festival in this part of Europe. It connects us musicians at the Petrovaradin Fortress; it has over 20 stages with various musical styles, everything from electronic acts to basic rock’n’roll bands. Our appearance this year was on the main stage. We started off as the first perfoming band at 19.00. The performance was in accordance with the time. We have to mention the audience last year was larger as we performed at a later time in the night when there were more people present at the festival. For this reason we would have liked to play a bit later on when a crowd of thousands gathered. However, the concert itself was very well carried out. We think we threw a good party for the audience, which was noticeable in the reactions we got from it.For us it was a great opportunity to play again after a really long time and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. We also performed two songs from our latest album. We will perform more of the songs from “Petrolea” on our upcoming tour in autumn and winter, which we all are very much looking forward to.Siddharta wishes you a great summer. Take time to relax so you’ll have enough energy for our concerts. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!See you in September!Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1823 Fri, 07 Jul 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Plastika on MTV Europe Siddharta, with their latest album "Petrolea", continues quality video production marked by the first video for the song "Plastika". We've completed the mix – finally! This is a part that doesn't depend on us as much as it does on the mix master but in any case we had to be there. When the mix was set, we gave them important guidelines for the finalization of the lot. While the mix master was doing his mixing job, we didn't waste time sitting around but took part of the time to record a few other things that came to mind and will definitely add to the final album look. The rest of the time was used for sightseeing around Hannover and some plain leisure. The weather was great, we were lucky we could use the beautiful days to laze in the many parks here and various sports activities. Let’s brag a bit about our oldest member’s taking part in a local 10-kilometer marathon, which won him a medal. There, as far as our work is concerned, this is the end. All that’s left is a weekend in Paris. We’re going there to… enjoy ourselves?? Ah, in our dreams! The album needs to be put through mastering, to the print shop and… see you around next week. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1690 Fri, 12 May 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Week 9 Everything comes to an end eventually and we too have finished the recordings for the album. We spent last week finishing up the vocals and the guitars, adding a few percussions and other sounds to enrich the music. The voices of our guests, the 40-member choir Pomlad, helped out with two of our songs. It was indeed a pleasant experience. We took Saturday off and on Sunday we set off to Germany for the mixing session. There's still plenty to be done before the album is ready. We have, however, already chosen a name for it... :) http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1679 Fri, 05 May 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Week 8 When making a new album there's much more to be done than just recording the music for the release to be a full package. Therefore last week was the time for the official photo shoot. With the help of our old friends Luka Kaše and Saša Hes various different sets of photos were made in two days. The first reviews were satisfying. During the Easter holidays we were supposed to make the video but sadly we had to postpone it due to technical difficulties and lack of time. But we've already set an alternative date and put all fears aside. The other half of the week was spent in the studio, adding the finishing touches to the arrangements. It's going to be great... http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1671 Wed, 26 Apr 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Photo session We just can't seem to be able to find the time to unwind these days. As soon as we had returned from the Novo mesto studio, we set out for a photo session. We entrusted two photographers with the task this time: Luka Kaše, who we visited on Monday, and Saša Hes of the Amater studio, where we spent our Tuesday. The photos will be used for the promotion of our new album. But there are some raw samples just for you already in the Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1658 Tue, 18 Apr 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Week 7 We started the week in Ljubljana. There were some errands that required our presence. So we went back to our work only on Wednesday, rested and full of energy. And it showed pretty well in our next days' efficiency. Beautiful weather and the woods around the studio offered an extra creative stimulant. And we're going home for the holidays... http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1654 Mon, 17 Apr 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Week 6 Apart from our regular studio work this week we had a special task. On Wednesday we had a visit in the studio from the winners of our little contest. They learned about our studio work, heard the rough mixes of the new songs and got answered their questions... under close watch of MTV Adria's camera. Bojana and Simon thus had to prove themselves as TV hosts as well... there was a little bit of stage fright. In the recording room they kept company to Tomaž, who was working on his part in a song, which poured in him some extra encouragement. To rest our ears after hearing one and the same music over and over again (while recording one listens to one and the same track tens of times a day) we went to a Dan D concert in one of the clubs in Novo mesto. It did us good... http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1653 Mon, 10 Apr 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Week 5 After Jure Košir's party in Kranjska Gora we returned to the studio in Novo mesto. We are currently working on the guitar and keyboard arrangements and so not to have only shredding on the album, there'll be some sax too. Our studio time is from noon to midnight every day, with some time off for lunch and relaxation in between. We occasionally see a good movie or two, TV series such as Joey, The Simpsons and The Office. A massage does a lot of good. Literally. This week we've started with the vocals and the back vocals, slowly bringing our music together to one piece. Among other things this week we'll have a visit in the studio from our fans. We'll show them around, have them see how and what we do there. They'll be able to tell you more about that themselves. Until then, keep enjoying the springtime awakening. Siddharta http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1634 Tue, 04 Apr 2006 00:00:00 +0200 Week 4 This week's slogan could be "slowly but for certain". It is hard to keep up the same zeal all the time and productivity falls. We are still working on the guitars but at the same time editing, amending, adding lines... We have to admit you represented us quite decently at the Viktor Awards show and we hope you enjoyed it too... especially the after party, hehe. This week we got a visit from the Testtube guys about the video and from Sašo about the CD design... not bad, not bad.... will be quite cute. But let's leave that for a later time. We took Saturday off to go to Košir's party in Kranjska Gora... it did us good. http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1620 Sun, 26 Mar 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Kranjska Gora - a tribute to Jure Košir Saturday, March 25th, 2006 was a day off work as far as studio time goes so we took the opportunity to go to Jure Košir's farewell party in Kranjska Gora. In the morning Primož and Tomi participated in the ski legends' giant slalom in the teams of Lasse Kjus and Boris Strel. We have to admit they did rather well.... that is: without falling. In the evening we pulled one off by walking to the stage with a rather different version of B Mashina. Instead of Tomaž Humar's speech we used the radio commentary of Jure's first world cup victory by the legendary reporter Franci Pavšer. All there's left to say is: Jure, keep up the good and successful career! Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1609 Sat, 25 Mar 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Week 3 After a short break we moved from Dekani to Novo mesto, to the location where we recorded our last album. It was time for the guitars. We concentrated on various sounds and accordingly used a number of guitars and amplifiers. The sound we looked for was completely raw and strikes directly into the ear. Equipmentwise we had a little help from our friends, the bands "Dan D", "Srečna mladina" and "Sweet Sorrow".The weather went hand in hand with our work by not bestowing too much sunshine upon us so we didn’t feel the urge to go outside but the urge to create. But according to the date this is bound to change soon… http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1618 Fri, 17 Mar 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Week 2: Studio Dekani On February 26 2006 we finally removed ourselves from the capital and headed for the Coast, Dekani to be exact, the home of Studio Jork. The main reason for our going to Dekani was the start of recording our long-awaited (for us as well) new album, brand new music. In the ten exceptionally short days we recorded the drums in whole – this was of course done by Boštjan. We dare pinch in a good word about the results of his good work: the drums sound great, of course in harmony with Jani's favourite instrument, the bass, which added to the perfection of the rhythm section. The lot would never be perfect without the help of our producer Žare. We can add to the above the fact that we had great, almost spring-time weather, which could be tasted in our menu, which was taken care of by Primož and Jani. On Saturday, March 11 2006 we are moving to Novo mesto, where a little more work needs to be done: guitars, vocals, keyboards and saxes need to be recorded. Until then have fun. You'll hear from us again soon. Siddharta Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1542 Fri, 10 Mar 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Siddharta nominated for the Viktor award This year once again Siddharta have been nominated for the popularity Viktor media award. The popularity Viktor is the award voted for by the public, by our fans. We are proud to be nominated and excited about all the support you have given us through all these years. Thank you! As we are in the middle of our studio work for the new album, we won't be able to participate in this year's Viktor awards show. We have therefore decided to give our fans an exceptional opportunity: among our most devoted fans we will choose six who will take over our duties for the day in question. We will present them with our nominees' invitations so that they will be able to see the show live and in the event that we win the award, they will even get to go on stage to accept the award on our behalf and give the thank-you speech. We will see how good they will be at answering reporters' questions and after the whole thing they will get to go to the unforgettable party that is sure to last till morning. Siddharta http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1537 Thu, 09 Mar 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Siddharta and Mitsubishi join for safe-driving awareness Sometimes we get the feeling that everything has already been said about safety in driving. That everybody knows everything. And that we as individual drivers are always careful enough. For merely caring about our well-being. This is why Mitsubishi Motors and Siddharta have joined forces in a project called "Svetovalnica za varno vožnjo" (safe driving advisor). With the wish in mind for all present and future drivers to get all the information and education about safety in driving as well as the latest research findings necessary. Those that exemplify concretely and offer a way of testing our knowledge. And those that keep in mind the practice. More info on www.svv.si. Here is what the initiators of the project had to say at today's presentation of the Safe-Driving Advisor project: "It might come as a surprise for us to go in cooperation with Siddharta but I'm sure in fact it is optimal. Siddharta is a band well recognized and for its social posture highly respected. Many a youth find in them an example of what is to be done, therefore I believe together we can reach what Mitsubishi has always set their goals to when creating automobiles: ensuring the safety of all persons in traffic, be it those behind the wheel or everybody else – pedestrians, bikers and of course other drivers. The primary goal of our project is for every driver who sees Siddharta's Colt CZT on the road to realize how important his or her role is with ensuring safety in traffic. Our long-term goal however is to have the awareness rise at the view of any vehicle," says Andrej Bergant, director of Mitsubishi Slovenia official distributor AC-Konim. "Members of Siddharta have decided to take part in such an action of social enlightenment for two reasons. One is that in the past we were contrary to our wishes many times forced to decline many a request for charity appearances and performances. As we feel more socially responsible each time we bring something new to the scene, we decided to go forth with a campaign which will help solve one of the biggest problems today's society faces and which we are in contact practically every single day, a campaign which will improve traffic awareness. The other reason is to be looked for in the response of AC-Konim to our request for sponsorship of our upcoming album. It was quite a surprising response we got from the company: instead of financial means we were offered personal automobiles. At first sight an offer completely unacceptable and causing moral hindrances, it was given a purpose and resulted in the Safe-Driving Advisor project. The level of traffic awareness in Slovenia raises concern about the egocentric-individualist state of mind. Our goal is through our primary mission – music – and ultimately through the recognizability of the Advisor as Siddharta's socially enlightening symbol to help raise the level of traffic awareness on Slovenia's roads," explain Siddharta. Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1539 Thu, 09 Mar 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Week 1: drum'n'bass days We've begun.. finally! Back in the studio, with new materials. Starting off are Boštjan and Jani, who have to record the foundations for all the rest of the instruments. After the long and painful drum setup and tuning, setting the microphones and wiring the lot to the mixer console, on Tuesday we recorded the first "tracks" of our new album. It sounds great... at least these are our first impressions. But anyway, you will probably be able to hear a bit for yourselves soon. Until next week a big ROCK'N'ROLL to everyone!!! Siddharta Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1494 Fri, 03 Mar 2006 00:00:00 +0100 What's up? There, our dearly beloved... We've been good and the incubation period of our new songs has almost passed. Since last November we've been bursting with activity, turning our rehearsal place into our second home. Well, almost our first home, to be honest. We've lately been going through and working on the final details of the materials, now almost ready to be recorded. We've had occasional visits to our rehearsals by our producer Žare Pak, who threw in some constructive criticism. We can say that we have less than a month before we lock ourselves up in the studio. And hehe - we've had a bit of wind up already. This is it for today. The more for real this gets, the more updates you can expect. Till next time..Photo Gallery http://www.siddharta.net/en/news/1291 Tue, 07 Feb 2006 00:00:00 +0100 Slovene Army pilots for Siddharta This video is a present from Slovene Army pilots to the whole team of the best Slovene band, Siddharta for their great contribution to the popularization of Slovene music. From there we set off for Venice in our cars, from where at 12:30 we flew off to Lisbon. We landed at 2 PM local time (3 PM Slovenia time) and we settled in our hotel right in the centre of Lisbon and a good hour later we were already strolling through the old town. A whole day's stroll ended in a Halloween celebration in Hard Rock Cafe acroos the street from our hotel. We took the next day as well to see a few of the town's sights and to do some shopping. In the evening hours we went to check out the venue in Pavilhao Atlantico. We took a closer look at the grand hall, the stage, the event preparations, the soundcheck and the backstage area with big names on the doors. We did a few interviews and genuinely enjoyed our every minute spent there. The last day before the event we met the band Leeloojamais and in a relaxed atmosphere spent with them a pleasant evening exchanging our impressions and feelings about the nomination. On Thursday at 5 PM the long-awaited evening began. The MTV music awards show. All ran smoothly and very professionally. Each of the nominees had their own five minutes of fame on the red carpet and ours began at 6 PM. We'd never seen that many reporters and flashlights in one place before. Though we walked in there as an unknown band, at that point we felt like big stars. We were photographed every step of our way and... it was amazing! Before the event we had a few interviews and we met big stars such as Madonna, Serj Tankian (System Of A Down), Foo Fighters, and others. We had no knowledge of the exact schedule, we didn't know when our nomination was on so we just relaxed and enjoyed Borat's hosting and the performances of Green Day, Coldplay, the Black Eyes Peas, the Pussycat Dolls... live. And when time came for the official announcement of the award in our category, we were like in a trance. The feelings were indescribable. Joy. We got our first MTV award! We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank all who gave us your vote and helped make these unforgettable memories.
